swimming & masjid jamek

decided to combine both of 'em (ha! kill 2 birds with one stone..
am i smart or am i smart?)

swimming was fun.. initially i was a bit reluctant.. i mean, i didn't
want to invite thoughts of.. "eeeeekss.. she's so fat!" going arnd in
the heads of my uni friends y'know. ok anyway.. we got a SILVER
for breast stroke relay.. whoopee~! sabena, me, yeeleng & steph
were in one team! only 3 secs behind.. right girls?? hehe.. but i think
i was a bit slow..

if u all know me well enough u'd know i'm not much of a sports
person.. so.. haha.. yea.. that explains it all right??? but i actually
really like swimming, did a lot of that during the hols! of course..
it's more convenient having an olympic sized pool just below where
i stay without any worries of bumping into anyone! :D except my
brothers.. but here in vista.. erm, gotta swim @ like 10 pm to avoid
"human traffic"!

since we're in the renal system right now.. we were sent to dialysis
centres to see how things work there etc. funny enough, when it's
our turn to go, we'll say "i have dialysis tmr laaa..." -_-" sounds
wrong. haha.. typical malaysian english right? always wanna use the
short cut! instead of "i have to go to the dialysis centre tmr".

anyway, the journey there was a hilarious one. quite "membengangkan"
also.. cos first of all, none of us know where it is! (being the first grp
as usual -_-") so we just now it's NEAR masjid jamek lrt. period!
n we happily boarded the lrt (which was when i found out, STAR LRT
is no longer STAR LRT but RAPID KL!! surprise surprise)

happily boarded the lrt!!! n then chun peng was like. eh, u know how
to go to jln hang lekiu ah? i looked at the map but couldn't find it...
uh-oh!!!!! when we arrived at masjid jamek, we looked at another map.
there was hang tuah, tun perak, but NO HANG LEKIU!!! panicked a bit..
then we start asking around for directions. those pakciks working at the
lrt station have NO IDEA. n the kakak who sells kuihs just pointed
somewhere behind.. n burger king workers says it's behind too! -_-"

can u imagine, 8 of us.. trudging along masjid jamek.. not knowing where
to go exactly. hmm.. quite a sight.. especially when we cross ROADS!!!!
chun peng!! u've gotta look at the TRAFFIC LIGHT! :-P me & anu were
always behind.. hence always "almost" being "knocked down" by
accelerating vehicles. oh n did i mention it was drizzling too?!! *splash*

finally, i said, there's gotta be a phone number somewhere.. n so we called.
lo & behold, we were just one street away from it. happily again we
walked there and saw the LANDMARK! *eyes sparkling* JIN HO building.
the nurse said the dialysis centre is beside it. so we crossed yet another
road.. thinking we've arrived. and guess what!!!! the building was actually
right behind US. we didn't have to cross that road..

but the whole session there was fun. cos the patients there are special.
very motivated.. they can hook themselves on to the machine n take it
off themselves. they interact with each other & it's like one happy
family.. (except i guess, being on dialysis isn't exactly something to be
happy about) but what i admired most is.. they made the best out of
their situation.. and they don't dwell in self pity.. but are determined
to live that precious God-given life.. YAY!

the before-exam-always-eating-and-sleeping syndrome (BEAES Syndrome in short)

it has gone from bad to worse. haha.. with the ultimate manifestation last saturday. i seriously suspect my repro notes suddenly decide to emit some sort of sleeping gas. i tell u. each time i picked it up, no matter whether i was lying down, sitting on the couch, on the chair or on the floor i'd just drift to a snooze. n it's not a SHORT one. average of 1.5 hrs. -_-" on saturday!! so in total i probably slept abt 16 hrs out of the meagle 24 hrs i had! when i had only 4 more days to study. thank God sunday monday & Tuesday wasn't like that.

it was BIZZARE.. really BIZZARE.. which resulted in me being very very angry with myself for being such a PIG! (i can just hear jack snickering right now -_-") but i really am.. have i mentioned before how much i can eat?? oh yeah.. haha.. go visit makanclub.blogspot.com to see how many other gobblers there are (at least i'm not alone.. teeheehee)

oh well, now that exams over.. i seem to even have more things to do! (and everyone says.. why am i not surprised?) i know i know.. but i'm already being a very good girl by taking a deep breath, swallow, and say no to church dance ministry, piano, upcoming christmas production & my batch's convo mag *sobs* it wasn't easy. but God says let go. n i let go..

now i can concentrate on CF & campus ministry. hmm, but i just wish that i had more encouragement & support from my parents.. i did not enrol in medical school just to study, but i really want to serve God and the people around me every way i can. i think God has proven to be faithful.. that despite my busy schedule, He gives me extra grace & favour to get decent grades.. i truly owe it all to Him.. it's not me. but i thank Him that He blessed me with the ability to study..

upcoming events on my calendar? (chronologically)
1. malaysian studies "truly malaysian - food fair & cultural show"
- praise the Lord, i managed to choreograph the chinese dance in
one night
2. metro's parents day celebration dinner fashion show this
weekend..
3. imucup (cheerleading have to start choreographing already!!)
- oh n i'm miss scorekeeper ;-) so ahem.. all batches.. i keep track
of your scores.. u "sek jou la" :-P
4. preparation for cf committee retreat (God give me the grace to
lead)
5. renal exam (7/7/2006)
6. planning a mission trip to hulu perak's orang asli settlement
with Prof Paul Chen (hopefully i can go too!)

really need your prayers.. other prayer items:
1) selectives (hope i get a good one - preferably with more free
time so that i can catch up on my studies)

2) PMS. i don't know where to go.. i'm torn............
** btw, PMS stands for partner medical school.. i don't know how
many times i have to explain to my mom what it stands for haha..

oh.. n did i tell u?? i'm on a MAGGI PHOBIA right now. YES LI YEEN I AM!!!!! haha... after the terrible diarrhoea i had that day.. i promise myself not to torture my body like that anymore (for a month) good for my hair also.. later botak :-S

something about tunnels

Maybe you could use this today.. The darkness is only for a season.
It's not like you're stuck on the other side of the moon! It's just a
tunnel, here's what's GREAT about tunnels!

1) They may be dark but they're just for a little while
2) And if you keep going, you WILL come out on the other side :)
*phew*
3) And when you do, you realize that you just took the shortest,
quickest means of dealing with a mountain in your way.

- John Fischer, Daily Devotional Purpose Driven Life

WOW..

i'm going through a tunnel right now. (i guess it includes blogging
2 posts in one night-a package thing) which is a rather complicated
one. it's windy, and long, and dark, and gloomy, and i can't wait
to reach the other side of this seemingly never ending tunnel..
thank You Lord for holding my hands as i walk through this :)
i know i'm not alone.

i'm sorry baby for my bad moods lately.. thank you for being
there.. and for being patient with me. love ya ;-)

end of course assessment

repro's over. thank God!

assessment? (as in i literally wrote these - in a nicer
way, on the feedback form)

1) remind lecturers that they HAVE lectures to teach
2) pls don't put PBLs & CSUs of ANOTHER system before
we even finish this current system.
3) and for goodness sake!!!! print clearer pictures for OSPE!

sincerely,
not me (anonymous sounds so...)

at a glance

life has been reduced to nothing more than a routine.
i walk in & out with a smile plastered (*nb i said plastered)
on my face.
emotionless. (or maybe just too much emotions that it's
not quantifiable)

i know God is there,
i know where my identity lies in Him,
i know i know i know.

but what seems to be missing?

last sunday, i walked into church, refusing to worship, listen,
i just wanted to be a spectator. but NO. God did not allow that.
haha.. i'm glad He didn't. how appropriate.. His words were..
we call it rhema.

soul-winning annointing, how's that?

i got my priorities and perspectives all wrong..

passion for people. ha! sounds noble right.. i thought so too ;-P
but i guess i was wrong AGAIN! passion for Jesus first. that makes
all the difference.

are u afraid of rejection? i am.. i don't dare to ask, for fear of
rejection.. n then i "complain" i get tired.. so what is it that i'm
missing??? tired cause.... i'm not making it my LIFESTYLE..

revelation-ary.. that doesn't mean that i'm all hyped-up
& happy.. but yea, things are getting better.. life isn't always
easy, but i'm glad i have Jesus to bring me through it all :D

x-cavateD

it's been a week since cf camp! if u'd read chuen's, wenhao's,
zhi-yong's blog.. haha.. i don't have to say much! it was a BLAST.
woohoo.. and it's thanks to our awesome God, Jesus!! HE rocks..
haha..

it's not easy planning for the camp. i mean, so many things to
look into.. n u're not sure if u really got everything accounted for..
can't deny i had rather "little" faith.. i just couldn't quit worrying.
along the way there were hiccups. even till the last day, nothing
was actually finalized, if u know what i mean?? yup. but
finally u realize, how much can one worry? it ain't gonna help..
n then what God told me through Ps LeRoy finally made sense.
LET GO.. doesn't mean u'll lose it, instead God will take care of it
and give u bck many folds!

Camp itself was physically tiring.. but i am amazed at how God
worked! one theme, one place, one time, 2 speakers, but everyone,
went home with a unique take home manage.. that shows that
everyone is special to God! He spoke in different ways to
different people. it's amazing! i'm encouraged to hear the many
praise reports and i expect to hear even more. i'm also very glad
the committee themselves enjoyed the camp.. n i applaud these ppl
for serving so selflessly and made this camp a success..
God will give you a double portion of His blessings and favour! :D

i hope x-cavate don't just end here as a one time experience. but all
60 campers will be world changers and history makers!

I Do.. Two Words that Mean so much

Congrats to Tim & Alita on their Holy Matrimony on 30 April 2006
(Tim was my Puchong LifeGroup Leader)

It was really great pleasure & honour to be involved in their wedding.
The excitement of the preparations thrills me.. The best part is when
everything is going on.. You feel that sense of fullness. Indescribable.
I've gotten back the feeling that marriage is a wonderful thing. haha..
not that i want to get married NOW! but yeah.. if you'd just listen to
the vows exchanged during the ceremony, it's not merely words uttered.
u're really entering a covenant relationship. wow.. wow.. that's why,
any couple who encounters problems in their marriage should really
look back, and reiterate the vow they've once said to each other..
because, it's really.. more than words (i can hear the guitars plucking)

although i wasn't the one getting married, haha (obviously) it was
quite a hectic day.. (what more the couple right??) 230 i arrived
at church (for the 2nd time, after svc) to help out with the decor.
in 1.5 hrs.. say fook & ervie transformed the sanctuary.. magnificent!
the purple cloths that draped the aisle, with purple-pink heart-shaped
confetti, purple tealight lamps, silver glittered names of the couple
with a deep purple background, with 2 love birds in their nest, using
tree branches to hold them together.. it was gardenish yet elegant.
i am in awe. i really am..

@ 4, sister saro was tying my saree (oh tim got us all sarees to wear!
how cool is that???) cos the music team had another practice just
before the wedding started. i was on the piano................
thank God everything went well.. was really nervous. hehehe.. :D
then me & joanna performed "Love of My Life" by Michael W. Smith.
Such a lovely song.. :-)

i really had fun!! hehe.. so happy for them.. n congrats to the other
couples who just got married this month too!! James & Julia, Kevin
& Jasmine, Chris' cousin.. What a happy month! :-)

CF Camp is just around the corner........ We start X-cavating this
FRIDAY. Registration is still open. those interested please head
to the booth outside 'Roof Down' to submit your forms :-D

Just wanna thank God for the committee.. The sponsors.. The
Speakers.. The Venue, The Transport.. and everything else for
coming together at the right time. in His time.. :D You're the best
Jesus!

re-charged

i can't believe my first 4 weeks of sem4 is over -_-"
time flies.. really it does. and what a hectic way of
flying too!

i studied endocrine in 2 days, the paper was pretty
crappy! :-( i mean, it's ok la.. but the qns were huh?
it's more like a comprehension paper than a medical
exam wei.. oh well, *fingers crossed* and hope for
the best. God will see me through.

well, an exciting weekend awaited us sem4s :D it
was easter weekend! my church had this easter
cantata.. on good friday, liyeen, seyin, evelyn, lay in
& shu, wen hao, chern wuay, elaine, emma, chris
& me went to flamingo hotel. we braved the jam
AND the rain, but it was all worth it. the choir
was superb, good job guys! and i'm really happy
all of them came.. :D i went for the 2nd night too.
unfortunately darren & wai meng couldn't make it
cos it was raining woof & meows! ended the night
by going to alexis & relaxed to jazzy tunes..

nxt morning went to acts church.. 2 imu students
as the main cast wei, imu rocks! haha.. it was really
good. despite hearing the easter msg for the umpteen
time, i still cried at the end of the play. really
touched my heart and the true testimonies at the end,
really encouraged & reminded me once again, of
how good God is :D at night we went to DUMC's
TOY's symphony. a musical to depict the easter
story as well.. really nice!! the 3 blind mice is sooo
cute. n the ballerinas were graceful. *sobs* miss
dancing.

the weekend left me & my car exhausted (needed oil).
but i know it's all worth it.. i believe seeds have been
sown & we'll reap in due harvest. just keep praying :D
and yep, i've payed back my sleep debts! considering i didn't
sleep quite well last night. haha.. worries can do a lot to u!

God speaks..

Many speaking encounters I've had recently..

First it was about camp. I've just finished the book of Joshua not
too long ago, but as we started planning for the camp, God led me
to read it all over again. HIGHLIGHT on Chapter 1. where it speaks
of:

1. we ARE God's children
2. EVERY step we take, is ours (our inheritance as HIS children)
3. there's nothing to be afraid of, be strong & of good courage
4. As I was with Moses, so I am with you
5. It also talks about PREPARE, crossing over, & taking over

So as the CF Camp Committee plans for this camp, I would appreciate
your prayers for us ;-)

Second, in church.. Ps Chee Keng preached, I went for altar call (it's
been a LONG time since I did). Ps Be Eng prayed for me.. & gave
me this prophetic word. God has a destiny for me, I just have to
depend on Him, and He'll bring me through. I will not let circumstances
pull me down!

Third, my blog's own "daily wisdom". God has perfect timing.. haha..
Prov 20:22 Do not say, "I'll pay you back for this wrong!" Wait for
the LORD, and he will deliver you.. I am ever so amazed by the
way He speaks..
