Fear

we had a combined psych lecture at the qeh today.. the last thing scheduled was to watch a video. it was about FEAR! stuffs like phobias, and post traumatic stress disorders and the like.. common presentation for it? heart pounding, shallow breathing, legs feel wobbly..

how different this FEAR is.. from this FEAR ->

Matthew 10

v29 Are not two sparrows sold for a copper coin? And not one of them falls to the ground apart from your Father's will.

v30 But the very hairs of your head are numbered.

v31 Do not fear therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows.

fear in the first context is being scared, afraid, often a reflex, not necessarily given deep thought. it is often starts of as a protective mechanism (but sometimes can lead to overdrive). but the second fear, speaks of 'worry', lack of confidence and trust. it is the kind of worry that occurs when you don't put things into context.

these three verses really stood out to me. am i not more valuable than the birds of the air? if God takes care of them, will He not also take care of me? He even knows how much hair i have!!! (ok, the hair topic has been an issue of concern for me all this while, because.. i don't have much to start with) but even so, God still knows how many (grammatically correct for God because He CAN count!) I've got!

He knows how many hair that's on your head too ;) He cares! Nothing
happens without Him allowing it to happen. Whatever it is, He is in control.
