reading the above articles saddens me. it really makes you wonder.. why do people resort to such despicable acts? desperation? numbed conscience? (out of a human mind)
and i was reminded of what the bible said, the devil comes to kill, to steal and to destroy.
of course, God has given us the wisdom to take care of ourselves, not to endanger our lives in any way. at the same time, we have to put on the spiritual armour of God. because, it is not just a battle against flesh and blood. the devil is trying to distract our focus by causing things like these to happen. but, we should not live in fear, because we can hold on to God's promises.
The LORD will keep you from all harm-- he will watch over your life;
the LORD will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore.
Psalm 121:7-8
A thousand may fall at your side,
And ten thousand at your right hand;
But it shall not come near you.
No evil shall befall you,
Nor shall any plague come near your dwelling;
For He shall give His angels charge over you,
To keep you in all your ways,
In their hands they shall bear you up,
Lest you dash your foot against a stone.
Psalm 91:7, 10-12
and even as i typed this, God revealed something else to me. God will not only protect us from ALL evil, even when we are careless, so as to 'dash your foot against a stone', His angels will still bear you up. isn't that a great promise? :)
so an answer to the question above, YES! God with us, we are safe in His arms ;)
