The Wilderness Way

although i have a case write up due tmr! which i shld get started on now.... i just felt like i HAD to write about this..

Exodus 13:17-22

Background - after the 10 plagues, and Pharoah finally relents and let the Israelites go...

3 things I've learnt from this passage:

1) God did not lead them by way of the land of the Philistines although it was nearer. Instead they were led around by way of the wilderness of the Red Sea (lest they change their minds and return to Egypt). They went in orderly ranks out of the land of Egypt.
- this shows, how God knows His people so well. He knows that we're weak in spirit, easily tempted. He is faithful in His word that He will never let us go through what we cannot bear. He also provides a system that we can follow. Step by step, He leads us to the promise land.
2) Moses took the bones of Joseph with him, remembering also the solemn oath that was placed on the children of Israel (Jacob).
- carry with you, meditate on it.. the promises that God has given to you. that keeps you going as you journey on with life, going through the wilderness into the promise land.
3) The Lord went before them by day in a pillar of cloud, and by night a pillar of fire. He did not take it away from before the people.
- God will constantly be your guide. He will never leave you nor forsake you. His lamp does not flicker, it is a constant glow that lights up your path.

Belated Happy Birthday To Me!

nope, not quite excited abt being 23! (self consolation: it's only 21++) but am definitely blessed by having all the wonderful people celebrating with me :D

of course the utmost thanks goes to my Heavenly Father who brought me into this world, who knew me even before I was formed in my mother's womb, who knows the thoughts and plans He has for me, who'll never leave me nor forsake me, who LOVES me :)

to my parents who brought me into this world (literally) and brought me up until fat fat white white (fei fei pak pak).. haha! making sure that everything goes well for me (and my 2 brothers!) thks!!! :)

to my baby darling, whom i've shared the past 2 yrs & 4 mths together. through the thick and thin, we'll pull through yeah? with God on our side, everything will work out! *muaks* thks for putting in all the effort to plan for the surprise, and the giant card, and just for being such a sweetie!

to my housemates! past & present. i love you all!!!! thks for being a part of the surprise!!!!

to my anak-anak, cucu-cicit & dear CF-ers. thks for reminding me the joy of serving, and sowing into the Kingdom :)

HAPPY 19th BIRTHDAY Yong-Ge-Ling :P Haha, knew this guy through Shio Yen, who asked me to "take care" of him here in Adelaide.. Turns out to be, he's a CHOW too :) wah, rarity la.. To make it even more unbelievable, he's my neighbour!! just lives next door.. Chuen.. haha.. not used to calling her "Su". Hope this 22nd year will be one that's God-filled, in every area of your life! Thank you for being such a great housemate, toilet-mate and most of all friend. God bless as you embark on a new year with Him as He takes you on to greater heights :)

congrats to the new parents - ah shen koko and peiyee cheche :) and to the grandparents, ahyee no1 and uncle john. they must be so happy.. i'm happy too!! hehe.. so cute.. wow, twins!! now that starts the family history of twins. haha.. higher chance for me nxt time? one time, voila! gao dim! yeah!!
