ok maybe not thaaaattt old. but yeah, med home unit days (earlier this year) :P
the resident came to me, and asked "do you want to take blood from the patient?" and i stared at her as if it was the most bizarre thing i've ever heard. seriously, it just sounded so 'alien' to me.. as if i haven't done it before. but i quickly regained composure and said, "sure!!"
considering i haven't done it since... say, april? i manage to get 20 mls of blood from the patient, for blood cultures. yes~! i was willing my hands NOT to shake and tremble. i always get that when i haven't done it for a long time.. all is well :) thank God for an opportunity to practice..
and, i used my stethoscope for the first time, since april as well! (i actually forgot to bring it for the past 2 days) i miss having it hung around my neck. haven't had that for a longgg time. medicine is fun! i guess i'm physician type after all.. ;)
