1 Samuel 30
v6 now David was greatly distressed, for the people spoke of stoning him (i would be greatly distressed tooo!!!!)... BUT David strengthened himself in the Lord his God.
v18 So David recovered all that the Amalekites had carried away, and David rescued his two wives (phew-it, David so macho la)

Reflection: i like the part where the bible talks abt how david was greatly distressed. being a man after God's heart, doesn't mean he doesn't have fears, and feelings. but, he chose to strengthen himself in God. and he personalized it as HIS God. there's something intimate abt that.. which is so amazing.
1 Samuel 31
v3 the battle became fierce against Saul. The archers hit him, and he was severely wounded by the archers.
v4 then Saul said to his armorbearer, "Draw your sword, and thrust me through with it..." (anyway, the armorbearers didn't do it, i wouldn't either! even up to this point in time, he still wanted other people to bear responsibility for his own life!) therefore Saul took a sword and fell on it. (He killed himself!!)
which subsequently led to the event of everyone else who was with him committed suicide as well.

Reflection: Saul on the other hand, when faced with trouble, wanted to take the short cut of ending it all, even then, he didn't want to take responsibility of his own life, and his own actions! and that caused other ppl to fall with him as well. he started off so so well, he was God's annointed, but time and again he took things into his own hands.
