Essential Guidelines to ICU for Dummies (ie. medical students)

  1. You're not expected to be ICU specialists. At least, you don't have to know how the ventilator works and the funny numbers that are associated with it. Ha!
  2. When in doubt, wash your hands.
  3. The tea room is the most important place (quite paradoxical really, because after all.. it's the coffee that matters!) -_-"

So that's what we learn on our first day in ICU. hehehe.. of course, they were just being nice (and cheeky). Intensivists are the nicest kinda doctors. I would say, they are the "Gold Standard". *happy sigh* i'm starting to like the RAH. i really am :)

Busy week ahead. but in for a good start :)

Hi . . . I was just so pleasantly surprised to see this blog. I came upon it when I typed in NICU for dummies. Ive been a nurse for many years but am new to the NICU. Ive been thru all the classes but still feel very intimidated by the more intense cases. But I am a believer in Christ and was so encouraged to see your boldness and obvious devotion and love for Him! God bless. Liz
