so chia mein came over to stay for the weekend :) poor girl does not have leave so has to rush her trip. wish we had more time. but i must say, we spent the 2 days to the fullest! with all the shopping in chinatown and bugis st (obviously no photos BECAUSE we were too busy doing u know what) but sadly, due to financial constraints so i didn't manage to buy much. hopefully my hongkong trip makes up for it. muahahaha!!!
now you see it

this is at bugis junction. look at the amount of people~!!! -_-" it took 3 rounds of pedestrian traffic lights to change before THAT crowd is evacuated! omigosh~ claustrophobic to the max...
neuman is catching the SS-bug :D
crowded people, crowded buildings.. and more coming up! look at the cranes.. it's getting a bit too dense for me :(
this is his stressed-up look o_O
we went to church and then sent chiamein off at harbourfront. hope u had fun girl!
just having a go at my photo taking skills. i think it's pretty good if i do say so myself :P ha! kidding :P

this is their famous matsha parfait. it is super duper yummy yummy!!!
the atomic looking christmas tree doesn't look so bad from this angle. haha.. or maybe we beautify the picture?
one more photo along clarke quay. i am so FAT. with bad hair day :(
tired by now~ but!!! :) must say it was a well spent weekend! hehehe..
2 more days.. and i'll be in HK! ahhhh~ can't wait.
hm, coming bck to s'pore this time arnd gave me a different feeling. maybe i've been in adelaide for too long, or maybe this place really did change. i really felt the "tension" just being caught in the rush hour at the causeway, the "aggressiveness" of the drivers and motorcyclists; the mass of people, the only thing i see walking along orchard rd and bugis st was HEADS bobbing everywhere, every square inch is covered with people, it was a tad bit too overwhelming for me.
other than that, i also noticed a greater diversity in the population right now. i can almost safely say that 1/3 person in singapore is from somewhere else.. they truly are a metropolitan city now. with so many different cultures integrated into one bustling city.
but as we drove along the places we used to go, yes, somehow i still do reminisce the times i spent in JC. although it too, was one of the most trying and humbling times of my life. it was also through this 1.5 yrs, that i experienced God for myself and being able to not only say He is God. but He is MY God.
i remember how we used to "pakat" to break curfew to go for coffee, teach tuition at siglap to collect community service points, bbqs and asean activities at east coast park, taking long mrt rides just so we can make it to church, running after the bus with a "pau" in our hands because we are SO late! i am so happy to see that everyone of us, are doing well.. some have started working, most are getting attached ;) and hopefully getting married soon (hehe), the rest want to continue studying (post grad, third degrees, exchange programmes).. and the best part is.. the dynamics of our relationship did not change! despite studying different subjects, being in different places, we still talk like we never left JC.
nonetheless haha!~ ask me a chance to work/stay in s'pore? hm, i might just say no unless God says otherwise. haha.. but yeah, maybe i've grown older. i just don't think i can keep up with the speed and lifestyle (or fashion trends for that matter). it is still a nice place to visit, and meet up with people..
i must say though, the only type of "crowd" that i like and that never fails to amaze me, is the kind where people wait in line (i mean LONG lines), for church service to start.. and hundreds upon thousands of souls are added to the Kingdom every single week. well done, i say! church today was really practical, direct and also hilarious. God also reminded me of my assured future in His hands, the importance of letting go and letting God take over. how timely, as the Board of Examiners actually meet up tmr, and our results will be released thereafter. Hebrews 11:1 NOW, faith IS.
pray along with us, as we expectantly receive our results within the next few days!
