of selectives, camps and retreats

so many things happened during selectives. haha.. i appear more "busy"
than during system's course. ooh.. where should i start? hehe.. i guess i
can start by saying i couldn't be more thankful for God's grace that has
brought me through such a crazily, eventfully packed month! haha.......

from Infectious Fs camps (and the dilemma that haunted me before that,
YA camp/FES camp? YA camp/FES camp? it was going on in my head
like a broken record) but it proved to be a great time.. it really got me
thinking of whether i've been living that INFECTIOUS life that got has
called me to live? (no i'm not some evil girl going around giving you
bacterial, viral, parasitic or fungal infections! :-P) while doing team
dynamics, it really hit me HARD that i have been rather self-centred.
i'm sorry God. hehe.. will change, will change. i'm glad eeleen & gary
went along, and eupui was there too! so it was really nice, getting to
know everyone better. not to mention the many new friends i met
(and they KNOW where MELAWATI is!!! yay!!!)

then came the committee retreat. the week before it was truly a
"stressful" period for me.. kept feeling defeated, condemned, 'you
can't do it' thoughts, HOW HOW HOW???? but God has a funny
sense of humour. no kidding!

it was the Sunday before retreat..

i walked into 10 am svc, sat alone (didn't really feel like socialising
at that point in time)..

praise & worship, as usual.. we were singing the last song. can't
really remember what it was cos i was busy complaining to God!
haha..

me: God!!!!! are u there???? what am i to do? what am i to say?
how do i plan?? WHAT TO DO???????????
God: silent

p&w ends. Pastor Ong comes up..

after some greetings and introduction..

Pastor Ong: Today's sermon is "What to do when you don't know
what to do!"
me: whoa.. God.. whoa..
God: so, do u still think i'm not listening or answering you? :-P

haha.. God has a great sense of humour eh?

1) remind lecturers that they HAVE lectures to teach
2) pls don't put PBLs & CSUs of ANOTHER system beforewe even finish this current system.
3) and for goodness sake!!!! print clearer pictures for OSPE!

random thoughts/happenings over the weekend

1. i wake up & lie in bed for 2 hours before getting out of it
for 2 consecutive days

2. ding msges me and asks if zara or topshop is on sale?!!
the sms starts like this: hey christine, ding here, your
handsome friend...... :-O the rest is history..... >_<

3. i fell asleep a few times watching england & portugal play.

4. i supported portugal. chris protested. so did the mosquitoes.
they were happily feasting on my blood. and i protested by
not watching extra time.

5. portugal won!

6. brazil lost to france -_-" (while i was asleep) and hau chun
went shopping to mourn over their lost

7. i went to church looking like santa claus but acknowledged
as metro's top model. haha.. thks alwin for making my day :)

8. i finish studying anatomy, despite much distractions of being
a chaffeur, an EAR & a counsellor :D

9. my mango-peach-tea-with-sprite-and-cocktail concoction
for cell's outreach turned out well.. i think?? jack?? any comments
besides it tasted like sprite?! because it doesn't! :P

10. we played pictionary-charades-style and brian tried to
act out the object turban. it was hilarious.. first he showed a
crown like thingy on his head, then bangles, and a big fat tummy.
huh??????

11. chris is back from victory weekend. i miss him! (& he is still
mourning over england's lost)

12. why can't people STOP indulging in self-pity??? it's pathetic.

13. why can't people be consistent? if u really believe in something,
or u think highly of something/someone wouldn't you want to let
the whole world know??? hmm..

14. having said that, God really uses my daily wisdom to speak
to me 1 thess 5:14, it's like an arrow shot through my heart. ouch
God, that hurt-ed!

swimming & masjid jamek

decided to combine both of 'em (ha! kill 2 birds with one stone..
am i smart or am i smart?)

swimming was fun.. initially i was a bit reluctant.. i mean, i didn't
want to invite thoughts of.. "eeeeekss.. she's so fat!" going arnd in
the heads of my uni friends y'know. ok anyway.. we got a SILVER
for breast stroke relay.. whoopee~! sabena, me, yeeleng & steph
were in one team! only 3 secs behind.. right girls?? hehe.. but i think
i was a bit slow..

if u all know me well enough u'd know i'm not much of a sports
person.. so.. haha.. yea.. that explains it all right??? but i actually
really like swimming, did a lot of that during the hols! of course..
it's more convenient having an olympic sized pool just below where
i stay without any worries of bumping into anyone! :D except my
brothers.. but here in vista.. erm, gotta swim @ like 10 pm to avoid
"human traffic"!

since we're in the renal system right now.. we were sent to dialysis
centres to see how things work there etc. funny enough, when it's
our turn to go, we'll say "i have dialysis tmr laaa..." -_-" sounds
wrong. haha.. typical malaysian english right? always wanna use the
short cut! instead of "i have to go to the dialysis centre tmr".

anyway, the journey there was a hilarious one. quite "membengangkan"
also.. cos first of all, none of us know where it is! (being the first grp
as usual -_-") so we just now it's NEAR masjid jamek lrt. period!
n we happily boarded the lrt (which was when i found out, STAR LRT
is no longer STAR LRT but RAPID KL!! surprise surprise)

happily boarded the lrt!!! n then chun peng was like. eh, u know how
to go to jln hang lekiu ah? i looked at the map but couldn't find it...
uh-oh!!!!! when we arrived at masjid jamek, we looked at another map.
there was hang tuah, tun perak, but NO HANG LEKIU!!! panicked a bit..
then we start asking around for directions. those pakciks working at the
lrt station have NO IDEA. n the kakak who sells kuihs just pointed
somewhere behind.. n burger king workers says it's behind too! -_-"

can u imagine, 8 of us.. trudging along masjid jamek.. not knowing where
to go exactly. hmm.. quite a sight.. especially when we cross ROADS!!!!
chun peng!! u've gotta look at the TRAFFIC LIGHT! :-P me & anu were
always behind.. hence always "almost" being "knocked down" by
accelerating vehicles. oh n did i mention it was drizzling too?!! *splash*

finally, i said, there's gotta be a phone number somewhere.. n so we called.
lo & behold, we were just one street away from it. happily again we
walked there and saw the LANDMARK! *eyes sparkling* JIN HO building.
the nurse said the dialysis centre is beside it. so we crossed yet another
road.. thinking we've arrived. and guess what!!!! the building was actually
right behind US. we didn't have to cross that road..

but the whole session there was fun. cos the patients there are special.
very motivated.. they can hook themselves on to the machine n take it
off themselves. they interact with each other & it's like one happy
family.. (except i guess, being on dialysis isn't exactly something to be
happy about) but what i admired most is.. they made the best out of
their situation.. and they don't dwell in self pity.. but are determined
to live that precious God-given life.. YAY!
